The Bow Back Rivers

Stratford to the Thames

An aerial journey

The rivers and waterways around Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park are an unusual mixture of rivers, tidal reaches, canals and managed waterways. The constant threat of flooding is now controlled by a system of locks and barriers operated by the Canal and River Trust.

You can see some of these rivers and locks by visiting the Park. The film above shows how the rivers, locks and canal work together between Stratford and the Thames.
