Historian Mal Reding guides you around the rivers

For those who don't want to wait for the guided tour, or who enjoy exploring at their own pace, there is a self-guided tour available following the same route, narrated by local historian Mal Reding.

Starting at the Aquatic Centre (next to the lift) you can follow the trail around the Bow Back Rivers, learning about the history of the waterways and viewing old photographs. The guide will also tell you about other things to do nearby, such as boat trips, pedalo hire and local landmarks.

To minimise the amount of data you consume on the tour, use the Park's free wifi system to access the content.

The route covers just under a mile on level or gently sloping ground, and is step free. For visually-impaired visitors in your group, there is a brief audio description of each location, but you can also book a sighted guide from the Information Point near the Aquatic Centre.
