Stop 1 - Aquatics Centre

How to follow the trail Take me here now

Express - Historical - Modern - Options

Not everybody wants to learn the same things on a trail, so at each stop or ‘waypoint’ we offer a menu of choices. There are nine Waypoints on the trail.

The ‘Express’ trail is for those who mostly want to walk, not to stop. At each Waypoint this page gives you a couple of facts, and then tells you where to go next (you can also download the trail map from this page).

The ‘History’ trail talks about exactly that...the different ways the area has been used over the centuries, along with old photos where we have them.

The ‘Modern’ section talks about how Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park was made the way you see it now, first for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and then as part of the legacy from that event.

Where you see an ‘Options’ page, there are other activities nearby that you might enjoy, such as a climbing wall, cafe, or other trails.

The ‘Audio description’ page is for people with sight impairment, and gives a description of the surrounding area and landmarks.
