At Carpenters Road Lock

Carpenters Road Lock Take me here now

Before the restoration

As you go past Carpenters Road Lock on the Lee & Stort cruisers, you will see the new gates installed in 2017 as part of the Canal & River Trust's restoration project.

Before the restoration, the original 1935 gates had been removed, and the entrance to the lock was a trap for rubbish and mud.

The photos on this page give you a sense of what these rivers were like before the area was restored for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
