Volunteers and helpers

The Canal & River Trust could not maintain and protect 2,000 miles of waterways without the help of our thousands of volunteer helpers. These are people of all ages who give us their time and skills.

There are a wide variety of roles and tasks to take part in, from cutting back the bushes by the towpaths to painting the woodwork or acting as a lockkeeper on the busy  routes.
