We have worked with local heritage groups and volunteers to create guided and self-guided walks for visitors to follow around the Carpenters Road Lock area.
The route brings together the stories that belong to this place and you can join a tour led by some of our volunteers who have become guided walk leaders.
For visitors who want to to follow a trail at their own pace, we are creating a self-guided audio trail that you can follow. This trail will let you use your mobile phone to view old photos of the canals and industries, and listen to a local historian talking about the unusual history of the area.
